Please see Somewear labs site for more details. Somewear labs support has been very helpful in quickly getting me up to speed. I have had it for a few years and only power on to test update firmware which is easy through their app. This is very lightly used.
It has pulled satellite signals even indoor near windows for me. I no longer have the original box, packaging or manuals. I rarely use it and its been a nice comfort to have along on trips. With the SWL-1, you can send an SOS directly from unit or use Somewear app on your iPhone Android to send/receive messages via satellite including weather forecasts.
